Payments NZ made a submission on the exposure draft of the Customer and Product Data Bill, which will allow customers to safely access, and exchange data held about them. In our submission, we outlined the experience and expertise our Payments NZ API Centre has in developing and managing an open banking trust framework.
We highlighted our view of what a best practice customer and product data framework in Aotearoa New Zealand would look like, and the need for any enabling legislation to embrace the strategic value already created by the API Centre with a view to growing and further developing scalable and sustainable products and services for customers. We also answered all of MBIE’s questions in their consultation.
